Our history

Since 1973 that Sissifos Tavern began to operate, we had very good chefs by our side, like Francois, with a prize for the best cuisine from the Municipality of Athens.

But the personalities that passed through Sissifos weren't few, like the former Prime Minister of Portugal, Mario Soares and Julio Inglesias.

Finally, our garden has also been awarded by the Municipality of Athens for its wonderful vegetation.

Some of our unique tastes

  • Vine's Lamp

    Lamb shank in roll, stuffed with gruyere, carrots and various herbs, wrapped in vine leaves, baked in the oven, served with baked potatoes and sauce.

  • Stuffed Chicken

    Chicken fillet on grill, stuffed with cream cheese and basil, served with baked potatoes and sauce.

  • Beef in pitcher

    Beef stew with potatoes, carrot, onion and fennel, covered with gouda cheese, roasted in the oven.

  • Moussaka

    Ground beef with eggplant and béchamel in the oven.

  • Stuffed vine leaves

    Ground beef with various herbs, wrapped in vine leaves, stewed, served with egg and lemon sauce.

  • A variety of appetizers

    Cheese croquettes, gruyere saganaki, stuffed vine leaves, grilled zucchini balls, fried horned peppers, french fries, olives, cucumber, tomato, feta cheese.

  • Gardener's salad

    Lettuce, corn, boiled carrots and courgettes, white and red cabbage, croutons, with sweet and sour mustard sauce.

  • Greek Salad

    The traditional Greek salad with tomato, cucumber, onion, green pepper, feta cheese, olives, oregano and olive oil.
